Art that works: how Marieke Vandemoortel found the perfect painting for her office.

Choosing a painting for your interior isn't an everyday decision. It has to be right—in color, style, and feel. For Marieke Vandemoortel, a passionate entrepreneur, that balance was crucial in designing her office space. Because when you work in a space every day, you want to be surrounded by peace, inspiration, and beauty.

A quest for more than just decoration
When Marieke started looking for a painting, she knew above all what she didn't want: something that simply looked pretty on the wall without truly meaning anything. She sought an artwork that resonated with her own story and the atmosphere of her office—a place where she welcomes clients, but also seeks to unwind herself.

Through The Garden of the Arts, she discovered a completely different approach: not starting from the artist's name, but from the soul of the painting. What do you feel? What does it bring into a space?

The power of the art test and personal guidance
To help her in her search, Marieke took the art test from De Tuin Der Kunsten—a short, intuitive questionnaire that helps translate your taste and preferences into a selection of paintings that suit you. This immediately presented her with several options that really appealed to her.

This was followed by personal guidance . Together, we explored the possibilities and how each project would fit within her office design.

“The painting is just right”
The result? A painting that's absolutely perfect . "Its color, atmosphere, and energy match who I am and where I work," Marieke explains in the video sharing her experience.

She didn't just choose any work of art, but one that inspires her every day and gives her the right energy at her workplace.

Art that remains affordable and personal
At The Garden of the Arts, we believe that art deserves a place not only in museums and galleries, but also in people's homes—or offices. That's why we deliberately keep our collection affordable, with works starting at just a few hundred euros and never exceeding €2495.

Because true art doesn't have to be unattainable. It simply has to be right. In your interior. And in your heart.

Two-star restaurant De Jonkman in Bruges

At the two-Michelin-star restaurant De Jonkman in Bruges, I was commissioned to decorate their interior with authentic art, antiques, and décor. A collage of seven modern and classical paintings was hung there. Taking into account the existing elements—wall color, floor color, etc.—a sense of unity was created within the interior, making the space warm and inviting.
